The other founding partner of HANA, Attorney Kim, is the firm's co-Managing Director, as well as an active practitioner in client work. Before establishing the firm, he served as a Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and a Division Director at the KIPO (Metallurgical Examination Division and Transportation Machinery Examination Division). With a M.S. in Industrial Engineering and a M.A. in Intellectual Property Laws, both earned in the US, Attorney Kim has an in-depth understanding of IP law, both as a discipline and as a practice.

His deep knowledge in the areas of metallurgical processes, transportation machinery, and production-side technologies, in particular, has been instrumental in acquiring and maintaining ongoing client-relationships with such multi-billion dollar companies as Posco and Union Steel. Finally, he also teaches as an Associated Professor at the International Intellectual Property Training Institute ( IIPTI ), the educational arm of the KIPO.
