Attorney Shin is a founding partner of the firm with significant experience in government, IP organizations, and litigation. Before forming HANA with Attorney Kim, he served at the highest levels of Korea's intellectual property organizations, including as: the President of the IPT (KIPO), Presiding Judge of the IPT, and Director General and Examiner of the Examination Bureau (Trademark and Industrial Design, KIPO). His resume also includes a Director's post at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as undergraduate studies in Law and a M.A. in Economics from NYU.

While at HANA, he has successfully litigated numerous cases involving infringement, invalidation and cancellation of patents, trademarks, etc., on behalf of foreign and domestic multinationals. Currently, his duties are divided between client work in procurement, litigation, and counseling of IP matters and administrative work as co-Managing Director, overseeing the firm.

Education & Certifications: B.A. in Law, Korea University, M.A. in Economics, New York University; certified patent attorney; Member of the Korea Patent Attorneys Association (KPAA).
